19th Meeting of the Central and Eastern Europe Data Protection Authorities
On 17-18 May 2017. The Inspector General for the Protection of Personal Data took part in the 19th Meeting of the Central and Eastern Europe Data Protection Authorities (CEEDPA) in Tbilisi. This year's event was hosted by the Office of the Inspector of Personal Data Protection of Georgia.
Participants at the meeting included presidents and representatives of data protection authorities from CEEDPA member states. Participants had the opportunity to share experiences and best practices during discussions on key aspects of data protection, achievements to date and challenges. The subjects of the panel discussions included: supervisory systems in the law enforcement sector in different Member States; data protection and the Internet; effective data protection awareness campaigns and communication strategies; and practices regarding the disclosure of court decisions and different approaches in different Member States. During the meeting, participants also discussed CEEDPA's internal rules, forms of cooperation and the further development of CEEDPA.
It was also decided that the 20th CEEDPA meeting will be held in 2018 in Ukraine.
